Mauritius ranks 1st in Sub-Saharan Africa on Global Peace Index 2022

Mauritius ranks 1st in Sub-Saharan Africa and 28th globally on the Global Peace Index 2022.

The 16th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI), published by the Institute for Economics & Peace, has classified Mauritius as the most peaceful country in the region. The GPI which ranks 163 independent states and territories according to their level of peacefulness, has ranked Mauritius as 28^th globally, an improvement over the previous year. This excellent classification by the GPI testifies to the conducive environment for business and leisure prevailing in the country, whether for the local people or foreign individuals.
